To everyone involved and concerned about the adoption of MWD LEX

I just watched this video on tv and looked it up. Of course I am in tears. I know everyone wants to get a look at it as soon as possible. Dusty's family will be returning from Albany, Georgia on Saturday, escorted by The Patriot Guard. to their home in Stonewall, MS. Although they are very excited to be adopting Lex, it is bittersweet because they obviously would have rather been visiting Lex and Dustin. The official adoption ceremony took place today, marking exactly 9 months since Dusty was killed in Iraq.

Thanks to everyone that signed the online petition, sent words of encouragement to their family and said prayers for them. Thanks also to my friend, John Burnam (Vietnam Dog Handler, author of Dog Tags of Courage and "My Partner Dustin" - the attached story that helped inspire everyone to help) and to Congressman Walter Jones of North Carolina that stepped up and did the right thing to help. He is the real reason that we are able to celebrate the adoption today. He pushed the buttons that need to be pushed to get the adoption completed in about 5 weeks. A special thanks to God for allowing the right people to become involved in this process to help bring this Christmas Miracle for The Lee Family!

I have realized that it is not just about who you know - but how much they care!!!
