Column about being a Vietnam Dog Handler

Hello again! Quite a few years ago I had the honor of working with some incredible people on a feature about Vietnam Dog Handlers; the piece ran in Dog Nose News, and actually won a Maxwell Award from the Dog Writers Association of America.
I've recently been given two new columns - one pet related, and one called veterans corner. My first thought was to re-establish contact with VDHA, as I was confident somehow the poignant and powerful story of the war dogs could use a fresh telling. I was also interested in learning about the current status of the memorial project.
I need to pull the feature up on a different hard drive to revisit my list of contacts; the magazine (Dog Nose News) is no longer publishing. I DO know I was working with Vance McCrumb, and also John Burnam.
I would love to re-establish contact with them, for starters, or begin a fresh dialog with others who might want to share their dog handling experiences.
Perhaps this could turn into a larger project than my column...

Kindest regards,

Christy Caballero Doherty
