OBITUARY

Walter E. Ballard Jr.

November 18, 1946 – April 16, 2019

Funeral services for Walter E. Ballard Jr., age 72 of Heuvelton, will be held on Monday (April 22, 2019) at 12:00 at the Cornerstone Wesleyan Church in Heuvelton with Rev. Emily Hambrock officiating. Burial will be in Cold Spring, NY.

Calling hours will be held also on Monday from 11:00am until the time of the service at the church. Mr. Ballard passed away on Tuesday evening (April 16, 2019) at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse following surgery complications.

Surviving is his wife Donna of Heuvelton; a son Walter (Stefani) Ballard of Canton; Amy (Jim) Wing of Ogdensburg and Sarah (Shawn) Tooley of Heuvelton; a sister Donna Smid of Hopewell Junction NY; eight grandchildren Timothy Spearance, Colin Ballard, Hailey Webster, Rachel Ballard, Rebecca Ballard, Rylee Ballard, Rori Ballard & Lilly Tooley; one great grandchild Olivia.

Walter was born on November 18, 1946 in Beacon NY, a son of Walter & Lillian (O’Dell) Ballard. He graduated from Beacon High School and enlisted in the US Airforce in Sept 1965 until February 1969. He later married Donna L. Hayden on April 30, 1970.

During his career he worked for Bernetto’s in Beacon NY; Dust Busters a family owned and operated business and Losurdo Foods until 2013 when he retired.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching SLU Hockey, NY Giants Football, NY Mets Baseball, yardwork, video games, his pet dogs, communication with Vietnam Vet friends, and spending time with his family.
