Subject: Jesse Mendez - some good news
Hello,
Just wanted to share some good news. I spoke with Sgt. Jesse Mendez tonight.
Jesse is doing much better and planning on attending & speaking at the VDHA reunion next month. I think, it is good motivation for him. He sounded pretty good on the phone as well.
In the meantime, he is doing some intense rehab for a two-week duration to get better.
If anyone wants to reach him, please write to him at this address:
SFC. Jesse Mendez (Ret,)
1205 Bismark Dr
Columbus, GA  31907

It will do him some good to hear from friends!
All the best,
Ron W.

Hi all,

I am sending this to everyone I know as an email blast.

SFC Jesse Mendez (ret.) who I consider the father of the modern scout dog program has suffered a serious stroke. If there are any dog handlers in the area of Columbus Georgia that can visit Jess and talk "dog"" (you know what I mean) it would be appreciated. Also any financial help for the family would be appreciated. The address is 1205 Bismarck Drive, Columbus, GA 31907. These donations are not tax deductible as they would go directly to the family.  I'm looking forward to the Vietnam Dog Handler Association to roust up some handlers who can visit. All being said, Please keep Jesse in your prayers. Reach out to others you know. This is one guy you can count on to watch your backside and one hell of a dog man.

Respectfully

Mike
