Biography:

This is a prayer request for Dave "Coop" Cooper, who will be undergoing surgery on his foot from the effects of diabetes.

The surgery will be Wednesday evening, January 3, 2018.  Following his surgery, Dave will undergo physical therapy for approximately 2 weeks.  Please keep my good friend, and yours, in your prayers.

He and I arrived in Nam together and I personally had the pleasure to have him as a close friend.  We all know what it meant to have a friend to give us hope and keep us going.  Those of you who don't know "Coop", just remember that he was a dog handler and he did his job!

Thank you,

Don Chambers

It gives me great sorrow to announce the passing of David Matthews Cooper on May 18th, 2020.

Dave was assigned to the 12th SPS at Cam Rahn Bay 1966-1967.  He will be missed by all, but especially by the 12th SPS members of Cam Rahn Bay.

For those of you who knew him, he will surely be missed.  Always thoughts and prayers for the family, especially his wife Nancy who was a perfect angel in helping him through his daily life.  She gave him many plus years for us to have his humor and laughter.  He will be missed by all, but especially the 12th SPS members of Cam Rahn Bay.

Dave was buried on June 9th, 2020 at 12:15 pm at Bakersfield Veterans cemetery.
