OBITUARY Stanley L. Eriksen, 63, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at his residence.

Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Stanley was born on March 18, 1951, in Sioux City, to Raymond and Jeanette (Oliphant) Eriksen. Stanley was a sentry dog handler in the U.S. Navy for five years, as well as a Vietnam Veteran.

He was united in marriage to Connie Grau on May 16, 1981, in Sioux City. He was employed at Missouri Valley Steel for 27 years.

He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church. Stanley enjoyed being outdoors camping, fishing, and boating.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Connie of Sioux City; sons, Eric Eriksen of Sioux City, and Bryan Eriksen of Sioux City; grandson, Derrick Eriksen; sisters, Carol (Al) Sivertson of Savannah, Mo., and Shirley (Ed) Hammers of Emerson, Neb.; nine nephews; and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
