Part of my duties as unit director is to try and find other handlers who served with my unit. During this process occasionally when I find someone they will ask have you found so and so. Then I will look for the person they were asking about. During this search I found the relatives of one John Maehrer. They told me John had passed away in 1983 at the relative young age of 38 of a heart attack. That is when it gets difficult doing this kind of work.  John came over with the second group of handlers to Ubon in June 1968. I worked next to him on a few nights and remember a nice guy. Sorry it took so long to find you, John.  Rest in Peace.   Jim Watson
