The Military Working Dog Heritage Museum and Handler Center
(MWDHM) UPDATE from John Homa, MWDHM
Board Member for Projects and Events projectmanager@mwdhm.org .
The MWDHM is
currently in the process of acquiring the final approval of its 501 3C
designation. We are waiting on the Feds to sign off. This past
October the museum hosted a virtual re-dedication of the MWD Memorial at Ft.
Benning in Columbus, GA. The presentation is currently on their web site at
mwdhm.org. The Board of Directors is working towards an onsite re-dedication
for October 2021. You can look for information in a few months on its Facebook
page Military Working Dog Heritage Museum and in its monthly newsletter Paw
Prints.
If you would like
to receive monthly copies of Paw Prints please email info@MWDHM.org with your
email address and you will be placed on a list to receive monthly
editions.
The organization
is looking for Handlers willing to do interviews on video via Zoom, as
well as the ever-present need for more pictures of handlers and dogs that tell
a story. Please contact us at info@MWDHM.org if you wish to be interviewed or
have any history to share with our organization.
Volunteers are
vital in a non-profit organization; to continue bringing our mission forward,
we need a few specific volunteers. We are currently looking for volunteers to
help with web page related tasks, volunteers who would be interested in joining
our interview team (past handler experience a plus but not mandatory),
volunteers who have social media skills, and volunteers that may have a knack
for the English language. If you are interested in any of these volunteer
roles, please reach out to us at Info@MWDHM.org.
