Charles E. Brunner III,
75, of Rootstown, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Louis Stokes
Cleveland VA Hospital. He was born in Ballston Spa, NY on November 17, 1947 to
the late Charles E. Jr and Della A. Brunner and was a graduate of Boardman High
School. Charley went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Youngstown State
University and Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Kent State
University.
He was a member of St. Peter of the Fields Catholic Church, the Knights of
Columbus and the Vietnam Dog Handler's Association. He was an Eagle Scout and
avid Chess player. Charley loved playing Chess with his friends, over the
phone, using radio coordinates. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
In addition to his parents, Charley was preceded in death by his wife, Dr.
Carroll J. Brunner on December 31, 2009.
He leaves his children, Scott C. Brunner, T.J. (Kim) Brunner, Brian E. (Amelie)
Brunner and Meghan Fischer; and grandchildren, Samuel, Tobias, Josephine and
Corban.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at
St. Peter of the Fields Catholic Church in Rootstown. Interment with Military
Honors was at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
