Retired in Sep 1991 as a SMSgt with over 22 years. I can honestly say the only really happy time out of 22 years were the 2 1/2 years I was a dog handler. Advancement in rank forced me back to regular security duties. If I only could have stayed a buck sgt in K-9 for my whole career, life would have been perfect. Even though I spent the greatest portion of my service in regular security assignments I have always considered myself to be a Dog Handler, first, last and always. |
