"1 proud Marine. He believed in what we were doing. He was a patriot who wanted to serve his country. He was upset with the civil unrest and thought this was his way of protesting that!" James D. Marshall, his Brother
"One of his utilities that my wife decorated, that I left at the wall on the 50th Anniversary of his death."James D. Marshall, his Brother
"The Circumstances of his Death." James D. Marshall, his Brother He was inside the outer perimeter of defense and had shouldered his weapon. I surmise that some young man, scared in the middle of the night, in the bush, released a series of rounds. Mark was hit in the thigh, abdomen and shoulder. A tragic accident! He was a bad ass at home, weighed 165 pounds and played defensive tackle on the varsity team. I'm certain that he was completely committed to where he was and what he was doing! |
