Mr. Ruben C. “Buddy” Bedwell, Jr., 74, of Bloomingdale, Georgia,
passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at his home.

Buddy will be missed by his wife of almost 29 years, Gwen Bedwell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ted and Brenda Johnson; nephews, Chris and Kim Johnson, Brad and Kimberly Johnson, Ryan and Jennifer Johnson, and Brad and Kim Barnes; niece, Lisa Barnes; several great-nieces and great-nephews; close friends, Dr. Dave and Debbie Zoeckler.

Buddy was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and had lived most of his life in Chatham County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben C. Bedwell, Sr. and Hilda Benton Bedwell; brother, Dorsey Bedwell; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Weldon Barnes, Diane and Carey Fuller. Buddy served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and he retired from Chatham County Public Works. He was a licensed Assembly of God minister and his greatest passion was researching and teaching the word of God.
