Obituary:
Ed Cottrell, 74, passed away
this morning at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas.
Ed served at
Binh Thuy Air Base, Vietnam, in 1965-1966 as a K9 Handler with Sentry Dog
Fritz. He and Fritz were part of Operation Top Dog 45. He worked on
the Veterans Memorial in McAllen, Texas, and loved to talk about Fritz with his
Binh Thuy buddies and fellow K9 handlers.
Ed stood his final Guardmount Friday, January 4, 2019.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Funeraria Del Angel,
Chapel of Remembrance in Mission, Texas from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at the Rio
Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas. |
