Vintage Olive Drab color, cotton twill, Vietnam Veteran Embroidered Deluxe Low Profile Insignia.  Made of 100% washed brushed cotton twill with embroidered insignia on front panel, black sandwich bill, and Velcro type closure.

This cap features the Embroidered Vietnam Veteran AND a 2 Inch VDHA Logo patch, which is located on an angle, on the left front corner of the cap bill.

These patches can be heat press applied or stitched on.

This new smaller patch is now available because of a newly developed technology in the industry which allows very small text and details to be more easily viewed than when 100% stitch embroidered.  The technique allows the patch to still look like it is 100% embroidered, but it is actually high viscosity paint that is screened on to a cloth base that enhances the minutest details.  After the screening is finished, the patches are meticulously finished using actual stitch embroidery to enhance and trim out the outside patch edge and/or custom details to produce the finished product.  Much smaller patches, than ever produced before, can now be created and they can still be easily read and every detail is extremely crisp.

These Key Rings were designed and created by David Rudd, VDHA Lifetime Member #16677, 3rd SPS (1968-1969).

During recovery from an illness a few years back, Dave needed to occupy his time and decided to assemble Key Rings that joined P-38's with bright beads reflecting colors found in the Vietnam Service Ribbon.

Dave donated Key Rings for every place setting at the 2013 Las Vegas Reunion Banquet Dinner.  Everyone was so impressed with them, that Dave Rudd decided to donate the remaining 155 Key Rings he brought with him, to the VDHA BX.  In October of 2015, these key rings had become so popular that Dave Rudd donated the rest of his P-38's (quite a bunch!) that he had left over to our BX and the P-38 Key Ring has become a permanent item in our BX.   I'm glad to say that all Dave's P-38's have sold now and we are creating them in-house to sell in our BX.

Dave Rudd's response to "What is the significance of the black & white beads attached to the P-38"? is: "I have been told by others they see the significance as the likeness in color to the Missing in Action, POW symbol.  The first key chains we made in-house had the Vietnam service ribbon colors on both sides.  This seemed redundant to me, thus the black and white prevailed."
